Eyebrow Microblading

What is microblading?
Microblading, or “brow feathering” is the manual process of implanting colour pigment beneath the surface of the skin by means of tiny, sterile, disposable needles to mimic natural hairs by creating hair strokes that enhance the natural features of your brows. Currently at Dollface Beauty we try to give you the best look by filling in any bald patches and/or creating fuller and more enhanced brows.

Does it hurt?
Pain tolerance varies from person to person. A highly-effective, topical anesthetic cream is used for numbing before and during your procedure. Every effort is made to ensure you remain comfortable for the entirety of the procedure. Having this service performed during your menstrual cycle may increase discomfort as your skin can be hypersensitive. Most clients have compared the procedure with eyebrow threading or a light scratching of the skin.

How long does it last?
For most clients a minimum of two treatments are usually needed, booked at least 8 weeks apart. With most procedures, the colour looks dramatically lighter after the first week. Some clients prefer this, while others opt for a bolder look. At the second session, we will assess the colour retention and make adjustments as necessary. Everyone heals differently and at different rates. If your cosmetic tattoo does not heal perfectly after the first session, do not worry! We can always go darker and add more density at your next appointment.

How often are touch-ups needed?
An annual touch-up is recommend to maintain your brows. Clients with oilier skin types will tend to fade quicker than those with dryer skin. Following your appointment we will make sure you have all the information you need to care for your new brows.

How long does it take to heal?
It takes about 2 weeks for the superficial layers of the skin to heal. Your brows will be fully healed after 6-8 weeks. The first 2-5 days your brows will look darker as they heal and scab over. Light peeling will start around days 4-6, which will reveal lighter and softer hair strokes. If this is your initial appointment, by the 6-8 week mark you will notice your brows have faded 40-60%, which is why a second appointment is necessary.

Benefits Include:

How do I prepare for my appointment?
Bring 2 reference photos of the ideal shape in mind. Waxed, threaded or plucked brows will help give you a better shape for the finished look. Come with your eyebrows filled in if you do them on a daily basis to see the general shape you create. It is required that you avoid any blood-thinning medication for a minimum 72 hours prior to your appointment. This includes Vitamin E, Aspirin, Niacin, fish oil supplements and Ibuprofen. You MUST wait at least one year before considering this procedure if you have been on prescription Accutane.

Eyebrows are an investment! Please take the time to follow the pre-procedures to ensure you have the best results.
