Lip Blush tattoo (aka aquarelle lips, lip tattoo, lip micropigmentation) is used to enhance the natural lip shape, symmetry, and colour. This technique is great for those who want their lips coloured all day long without using lipstick. A customized pigment is applied to add definition to your lips and conceal imperfections based on your skin tone and personal preference. Seductive lips definitely take your confidence to the next level!
Lip Blush is not recommended for clients who are or have
the following:
Pregnant or nursing
Diabetic
Undergoing Chemotherapy or taking antibiotics
Viral infections (diseases)
Had Botox within a 2 week period of appointment
Had an organ transplant
Epilepsy
Sick with a cold or flu-like virus
Used Accutane in the past 6 months
Eczema, psoriasis
Seborrheic Dermatitis Acne
Pimples in the lip area
Prone to forming keloid scars
Does this technique hurt?
The discomfort is minimal. Numbing cream is applied to minimize any pain.
What to expect?
There may be moderate swelling, redness and bruising for the first 3 days.
If you experience swelling, use an ice pack for no more than 15 minutes at a time to
reduce swelling.
During the initial healing period, there should be minimal scabbing or flaking of the
skin. If there is some scabbing or flaking, do not pick, and allow the scab or dry skin to
come off on its own. This usually takes place within the first 3 days.
Expect the colour to lighten up to 50-70% once the healing process is complete.
Color may appear uneven at different stages of healing. Be patient. This is a process
that does not yield immediate results.
Permanent makeup ink is not the same as body art ink, and by design it does not last
as long as body art ink. Permanent Makeup does fade and is expected to last 2 to 5
years before requiring a touch-up. Maintenance touch ups are suggested for best
results.
It can take 2 sessions prior to achieving the level of saturation you may desire. Touch
ups are not included in the cost of the initial Lip Blush procedure.

When do I need a touch-up?
You will need a touch-up 4 - 8 weeks after your first appointment.
Another touch-up may be needed in 12-24 months to keep the color fresh.
On the day of the procedure...
It is optional to take two sublingual Arnica tablets 3 times a day for 5 days. Starting the day
before the treatment, in order to treat bruising and swelling after the procedure.
Lip Blush Pre Care
Your lips cannot be dry for the appointment. If they are dry we will need to reschedule and a
cancellation fee of $50 will be applied. You may exfoliate 3 days before your appointment to
remove any dry skin. You can use a lip scrub or create your own using a little honey and
brown sugar. For the week leading up to the appointment you must moisturize your lips as
much as possible (I recommend using aquaphor).

*IMPORTANT* Cold sores are a risk of lip blush tattoos. If you have had a cold sore in the
past- we advise you to go to the doctor for an antiviral medication prior to any lip procedure,
to help avoid an outbreak. Even if you have not had a cold sore before- I recommend all of
my clients take L-lysine 2 weeks before the appointment and 2 weeks following the
appointment to reduce the risk.
24 Hours Before:
Avoid alcoholic drinks, caffeine, or take any blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen,
Niacin 48 hours before your procedure, this will cause excess bleeding and may affect
your results).
Avoid sun tanning and tanning beds.
3 Days Before:
Discontinue Retinol use 3 days prior to the appointment
7 Days Before:
Avoid any supplements with blood thinning effects (including: dong quai, fish oil,
green tea, and vitamin E)
Avoid Aspirin, Midol, Excedrin, and NSAIDs (Advil, Motrin, Naproxen, Aleve).
Note: Tylenol is allowed to take before/after the procedure if you need it.
Lip Blush After Care
Lips will feel swollen, tender and very dry after your treatment but not for long.
Apply ointment on lips several times a day. This should be done for at least 14 days post
treatment. Do not allow lips to become dry. This may interfere with healed color. During the
day if lips feel dry, apply a pea-size amount of ointment. Just tap on skin and do not rub in.
Always use a clean Q-tip, not fingers to apply ointment to the lips area. This will reduce the
risk of infection.
After lips are no longer tender to the touch they may become flaky. This is normal and is
expected. Please do not pick or scratch at them. This may significantly reduce the amount
pigment absorption.
Avoid the sun and tanning beds pre and post procedure.
Be sure to use a sunblock once lips are healed.
Do not use any Glycolic, Hydroxy or fruit acid products on lips.
Avoid direct water pressure, pools and other bodies of water, until healed.
Avoid oily, salty, acidic foods and alcohol while healing.
You can resume wearing lipstick once your lips are healed.
Lips heal in three stages: Too dark - Too light - Just right.
This takes one month to happen. Please avoid any friction to the lip area.
